This series removes the modem-specific voice call support implementation
from the cpcap codec driver and moves the DAI configuration towards the
standard ASoC DAI link configuration model.
The previous implementation added a cpcap-specific .set_tdm_slot()
callback and relied on a client driver to locate and configure the codec
DAI directly using snd_soc_dai_set_*() APIs. This couples the codec
driver to a particular client implementation and bypasses the normal ASoC
configuration flow.
Instead, the voice DAI configuration can be described by the DAI link and
DT, allowing the ASoC core to apply the required format configuration.
The series:
- removes the old modem-specific voice call support implementation;
- makes the cpcap voice DAI format follow the configuration specified by
DT.
Patch 1 removes the obsolete implementation.
Patch 2 updates cpcap to apply the DAI format from the runtime DAI link.
The reverted implementation was added to support a modem driver that
directly locates and configures the codec DAI using snd_soc_find_dai()
together with snd_soc_dai_set_sysclk(), snd_soc_dai_set_fmt() and
snd_soc_dai_set_tdm_slot().
The DAI configuration should instead be provided by the ASoC DAI link,
allowing the machine driver or DT to describe the interface rather than
having a client driver configure the codec directly.

ASoC: adau1761: sort the register default table
reg_defaults must be sorted by ascending register address, as
regcache_lookup_reg() locates entries in it with bsearch(). See commit fd80df352ba1 ("regcache: Add support for sorting defaults arrays").
The table lists the ADAU1761 specific registers (0x4008 and up) before
the block shared with the ADAU1381/ADAU1781, which starts at
ADAU17X1_CLOCK_CONTROL (0x4000), so bsearch() descends into the wrong
half and 28 of the 52 entries are unreachable.
regcache_reg_needs_sync() then cannot compare them against their default
and reports that a sync is needed, so they are written to the device on
every regcache_sync() even when they were never touched.
Sort the table by register address.

This doesn't affect the validity of the KUnit testing because none of the

up for the sc8280xp machine driver.
The series first adds topology-driven Audio IF source/sink handling so
the DSP interface parameters can be described by topology while runtime
media format and slot configuration still come from the machine driver.
It then adds TDM DAI operations for q6apm-lpass-dais, exposes the Audio
IF clock IDs through the q6dsp-lpass-ports binding and q6prm clock
tables, and introduces common QCOM helpers for parsing standard
dai-tdm-slot-* properties from backend CPU and codec endpoints.
Finally, sc8280xp uses the common helpers during hw_params to program

PCM parameters, and request the CPU and codec clocks before the stream is

CPU and codec child nodes of a backend DAI link and apply the result to

QCOM machine drivers already use qcom_snd_parse_of() to build links from
DT, but they lacked a shared helper to translate endpoint TDM properties
into snd_soc_dai_set_tdm_slot() calls. Boards therefore had to carry ad
hoc parsing or rely on non-standard DT properties.
The helpers parse endpoint masks, validate the shared slot count and
slot width, and program CPU and codec DAIs with the resulting slot
configuration. A cfg-based apply helper is provided for callers that
already parsed the DT data and want to avoid a second DT traversal.
Allow standard dai-tdm-slot-* properties in the CPU and codec child
nodes of a DAI link.
The QCOM machine driver parses these child nodes to configure TDM slots
on the active CPU and codec DAIs. The properties are already defined by
the common tdm-slot binding, but qcom,sm8250.yaml currently rejects them
because the CPU and codec child nodes set additionalProperties: false.

An entry registered with 'F' opens its interpreter at registration
time and holds that file until the entry is freed, so an entry
nobody removes by hand is only closed once the binfmt_misc
superblock is shut down.
If the interpreter lives on a mount that keeps that superblock
alive the two pin each other and the file is never closed. That's
reachable by pointing the interpreter at the instance itself or by
using the instance as an overlayfs lower layer, and once the mount
namespace is gone there's nothing left to unregister through
either.
- Restore write access when removing an entry.
Registering with the MISC_FMT_OPEN_FILE flag opens the interpreter
via open_exec() which denies write access for as long as the entry
exists, but removal only did filp_close() and never restored it.
The inode's i_writecount stayed permanently negative and opening
the interpreter for writing kept failing with ETXTBSY long after
the entry was gone.
- Use exe_file_deny_write_access() for the interpreter clone so both
sides base their decision on the same mode.
- Reject a flag character as the field delimiter. create_entry() pads
the buffer with the delimiter so the field parsers terminate even
on a truncated string, but check_special_flags() consumes flag
characters instead of scanning for the delimiter.
If the delimiter is itself a flag character the padding stops
acting as a terminator and the scan keeps reading past the end of
the allocation. Such a registration was always rejected, just only
after the out of bounds read has already happened.
- Don't leak the user namespace when the mount fails.
bm_get_tree() hands its reference to get_tree_keyed() and sget_fc()

Merge tag 'trace-v7.2-rc5' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/trace/linux-trace
Pull tracing fixes from Steven Rostedt:
- Reset dropped_count in mmio_reset_data()
When mmio_reset_data() is called, it does not reset the dropped_count
so that subsequent runs will have incorrect reporting.
- Add NULL check for mmio_trace_array in logging functions
The functions __trace_mmiotrace_rw() and __trace_mmiotrace_map() may
have the 'tr' variable passed to it as NULL. But they both
dereference it without checking if it is NULL first.
- Check return value of __register_event() in trace_module_add_events()
If __register_event() fails, the __add_event_to_tracers() call after
it will create a file for it. If the module fails to load and its
memory is freed, the file will still point to it and it will not be
removed as the registering of the event did not complete.
Only call __add_event_to_tracers() if the __register_event() was
successful.
- Fix false positive match in regex_match_full()
The regex full matching uses a strncmp() to test against the match
string and the value. It should not match if value is a prefix of the
string to match. Check to make sure the length of the strings match
before comparing.
- Fix reader page read offset for remote buffers
A page swapped in by __rb_get_reader_page_from_remote() retains its
stale read offset, causing subsequent reads to skip events or read
past valid data.
- Fix memory leak of subbuf_ids in rb_allocate_cpu_buffer()
Remote buffers allocate a subbuf_ids array. If the allocator function
fails after it is allocated, it does not free it, resulting in a
memory leak.

ASoC: spear: Update the SPDIF drivers for current ASoC APIs
bui duc phuc <phucduc.bui@gmail.com> says:
While cleaning up the SPEAr SPDIF driver probe path by removing
redundant error messages, build testing revealed several compilation
failures caused by outdated ASoC APIs.
The series first removes the redundant error messages, then updates the
driver to match the current ASoC APIs by replacing the removed
capture_dma_data field usage with the corresponding helper API, and
moving the DAI probe callback to struct snd_soc_dai_ops.
ASoC: spear: spdif_out: Move DAI probe callback to snd_soc_dai_ops
The .probe callback is no longer part of struct snd_soc_dai_driver
and is now provided through struct snd_soc_dai_ops.
Move spdif_soc_dai_probe() accordingly so the driver follows the current
ASoC API and builds correctly on modern kernels.
ASoC: spear: spdif_in: Move DAI probe callback to snd_soc_dai_ops
The .probe callback is no longer part of struct snd_soc_dai_driver
and is now provided through struct snd_soc_dai_ops.
Move spdif_in_dai_probe() accordingly so the driver follows the current
ASoC API and builds correctly on modern kernels.
ASoC: spear: spdif_in: Switch to snd_soc_dai_dma_data_set_capture()
Replace the legacy direct access to dai->capture_dma_data with
snd_soc_dai_dma_data_set_capture().
The capture_dma_data field no longer exists in struct snd_soc_dai,
making the previous implementation incompatible with current ASoC APIs.
This is v3 of "ASoC: use .auto_selectable_formats", but separated into
small blocks. It is Step1, and it will be Step4 in total.
x: this patch-set
[x] Step1: ASoC: a to b
[ ] Step2: ASoC: codec: ...
[ ] Step3: ASoC: d to r
[ ] Step4: ASoC: r to x
Current ASoC supports snd_soc_daifmt_parse_format() which can specify DAI
format by "dai-format" property from DT.
But strictly speaking, it is SW settings, so doesn't match to DT's policy.
Current ASoC is supporting auto format select via
snd_soc_dai_ops :: .auto_selectable_formats.
But the user is very few today.
DT doesn't need to specify the DAI format via "dai-format", if both CPU
and Codec drivers were supporting .auto_selectable_formats. It will be
automatically selected from .auto_selectable_formats.
One note is that auto select might not find best format on some CPU/Codec
combination. So "dai-format" is necessary anyway.
This series adds sound support for the Monaco/Monza (VENTUNO-Q)
platform on the QCS8275 board, which uses a MAX98091 codec on an
LPI MI2S link.
Patch 2 (from Neil) registers the LPASS MCLK1..MCLK5 clock IDs in
q6prm-clocks.c. Without these entries the DT clock reference
"clocks = <&q6prmcc LPASS_CLK_ID_MCLK_3 ...>" that the MAX98091
node uses cannot resolve at probe, and the codec silently runs
without MCLK.
Note: this patch has been posted to the list more than once from Oct
2025 and does not appear to be actively pursued by anyone. I
am picking it up here because the rest of this series depends on
it to get sound working on QCS8275, and it makes little sense to
send the machine-driver changes without the clock IDs they rely
on.
With these patches now we have full audio working on Arduino VENTUNO-Q.

Both drivers access enumerated controls through value.integer.value[0]
instead of value.enumerated.item[0]. The same bug was fixed in rx-macro
and va-macro in 2022 (bcfe5f76cc40, 0ea5eff7c606); tx-macro and
wsa-macro were missed.
On 64-bit kernels with CONFIG_SND_CTL_DEBUG this trips the elem value
sanity check, and every read of the affected controls fails with
-EINVAL.
Reproduced and fixed on a Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro (SM8250) for tx-macro.
wsa-macro is compile-tested only — that codec is not instantiated on
this hardware.
EAR SPKR PA Gain" and the four "WSA RX* Mux" controls are enumerated,
but their get and put callbacks access the value through
ucontrol->value.integer.value[0] (a long) instead of

ring-buffer: Fix subbuf_ids memory leak in rb_allocate_cpu_buffer() error path
In rb_allocate_cpu_buffer(), cpu_buffer->subbuf_ids is allocated using
kcalloc() when buffer->remote is non-NULL. If a subsequent page allocation
fails (e.g., ring_buffer_desc_page() returns NULL or rb_allocate_pages()
fails), execution jumps to fail_free_reader.
While __free(kfree) automatically frees the outer cpu_buffer structure
at scope exit, kfree(cpu_buffer) does not recursively free nested heap
pointers such as cpu_buffer->subbuf_ids, resulting in a memory leak.
Fix this by explicitly freeing cpu_buffer->subbuf_ids in the
fail_free_reader error unwinding path when cpu_buffer->remote is set.
ASoC: qcom: sc8280xp: rename snd_soc_common to qcom_snd_soc_common
The driver-local structure was named 'snd_soc_common', which occupies
the generic snd_soc_ ASoC namespace even though it is specific to the
Qualcomm sc8280xp machine driver.
Rename the type to qcom_snd_soc_common so the identifier is properly
scoped to this driver, and rename the pointer field in
sc8280xp_snd_data from 'snd_soc_common_priv' to 'priv' so the shorter
name doesn't repeat the type name at every use.
