Future Plans for BladeEnc
I have great plans for this encoder and have thought up a lot
of features I would like to implement. Unfortunately I have so little time
to work with this product that I'm afraid you will have to wait quite some
time before they are all implemented.
The main features I plan to implement are:
-
The ability to add new files to the batch without cancelling the current
process.
-
A suspend function so you can stop BladeEnc in the middle of a process
and shut down the computer without losing any work. When you later start
BladeEnc again, it will continue right where you stopped it.
-
A "Crash Guard"-option that automatically saves down important internal
data every minute so you don't lose more than a minutes work if (when)
Windows goes down.
-
Support for multiprocessor machine.
-
Network abilities so that any number of machines in a network can share
the work between them.
-
Support for ID3v2 tags.
-
Automatic frequency conversion for samples that aren't 32, 44.1 or 48 kHz.
-
A switch for automatically closing down the system when all files have
been encoded.
-
Support for adding an ASCII file to the commandline, containing names of
samples to be encoded.
-
Optionally adding a WAV-header to the MP3 file (i.e. generating WAV-files
containing MP3 data).
-
A switch for automatically splitting MP3 files so they will fit on floppy-discs.
-
A switch for stopping the encoding after a certain run length (i.e. a preview-function).
-
Ask before overwriting an already existing MP3 (and a switch to tell BladeEnc
to NOT ask).
Do you want a feature which I haven't thought of ?
