Windows 9x/NT
CD Rippers
The following programs are CD Rippers that either have support for
BladeEnc.dll or BladeEnc.exe (or both) for on-the-fly-encoding.
Note: Some modern CD-drivers support CD-Ripping through normal
drag'n-drop in Windows, so it might be worth checking out the
latest drivers for your CD-Rom.

Description: This ripper is not very well known but it really deserves more attention than it has received. First of all it's free to use (you should send him a postcard if you use it though) and supports CDDB. But the real killer feature is that it can guarantee the quality of the output! You no longer need to listen through all the files in order to be sure that you didn't get a glitch or something, if the result window says that a track was ripped at 100% quality you can be sure it was! This is done by reading each sector at least twice and comparing the results. If they don't match the sector is read 16 more times to gather some more information and if EAC still isn't sure which result is the right one it keeps on reading it until it either finds it or have read the same sector 82 times, in which case it proceeds to the next sector and reports a possible quality degradation. The downside of this technique is that some severely scratched CDs can take hours to read, but you always gets the best possible results. Thanks to this technique you can also use your computer while ripping (although it gets a bit sluggish) without having to worry about bad quality. Highly recommended!

AKRip is a free commandline based ripper, i.e. just like BladeEnc it doesn't feature a graphical user interface. Instead you have to enter commands to it from the DOS-Prompt. I haven't had the chance to test it yet, but it supports BladeEnc.dll and comes with complete sourcecode, just in case you want to play around with it.
