Ogg Vorbis 1.0 finally here!
A new and completely free technology for compressed audio has finally
been completed. Ogg Vorbis is technically superior to mp3, with a quality/size
ratio
on par with the latest technology, and completely free from patent
and royalty claims.

BladeEnc is no longer actively developed
I have for various reasons decided to no longer develop BladeEnc.
See my newsblurb for 2002-08-11 for motivation and details.
If somebody is interested in taking over the project, please feel free
to send me a mail.
These pages, the source code and the binaries will still be available from
this
location for the forseable future.
Although development has stopped, it doesn't mean that BladeEnc suddenly
has degraded. The program works just as well as it did yesterday and I will
personally keep on using BladeEnc for my 256 kBit mp3 encodings.
For anything else, I will use Ogg Vorbis instead.
